Sunshine Coast Clinical Trials offers a single point of contact to world class clinical trials facilities and expertise within the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast region contains 8% of Queensland’s population. By 2026 this population is expected to grow to over 500,000 with the highest growth (54%) being in the 65-74 years age bracket. Major causes of disease for this group include coronary heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, depression and cancer. Furthermore musculoskeletal disease and mental disorders are higher here than in the average Australian population.
